You will be based in Roseau, the capital, perfectly located for divers, whale watchers and hikers alike. There is plenty of opportunity to discover all that this island nation has to offer, even with five days diving, the afternoons can be spent exploring. An optional trip out to sea is possible to observe one or more of the 20+ species of cetaceans that are seen here throughout the year.
Suggested Itinerary
Day1: Fly to Dominica
The journey to Dominica is normally via Antigua. You will be met on arrival and transferred to the Fort Young Hotel in Roseau for a week long stay.
Days2-6: Discover Dominica
Enjoy five days diving, two dives per day during your stay. Highlights for divers and snorkellers include the unique geothermal springs of Champagne Reef and other volcanic topography. The reef in front of the dive centre is open for unlimited unguided diving during shop hours.
The afternoons can be spent on optional excursions or via self-guided exploration. Six species of cetaceans are regularly seen here, and whale watching is a popular activity, the highlights being sperm and humpback whales. On land, you have the chance to hike in the rainforest and visit spectacular waterfalls and a boiling lake. There’s plenty of adventure to choose from to help you discover Dominica.
Day7: Day at leisure
The whole day is yours to do as you wish. Take time to relax in resort or stroll into town on your last day, as you continue to discover the beauty of this rugged Caribbean island.
