Ticao Island, just a short distance from the whale sharks of Donsol, is both a haven of tranquility and a big fish playground.
This peaceful, relatively untouched corner of the Philippines has come to the attention of divers in recent years primarily for its manta rays, but the nutrient rich waters also play host to whale sharks, hammerheads, thresher sharks and even tiger sharks.
The northern areas of the island are also known for colourful corals and the type of diversity that much of the Philippines is renowned for.
Due to its close proximity to Donsol, Ticao Island makes for a fabulous combination with Donsol’s whale sharks in season.
